During the Manchester Luncheon Club’s one Hundred Years’ existence, there have been many changes in the business and commercial life of Manchester, in particular the lunching habits of the working community.

This has been reflected over the years in the Club’s constantly changing membership, which now mainly consists of retired professional, academic and likeminded people.

Despite these changes the Club remains true to its original guiding principles, continuing to cover a wide range of topics via invited speakers.

Most meetings follow the pattern of a formal lunch, of an excellent standard, after which we hear a talk by an eminent speaker.

We also have meetings when we visit particular places of interest.

There is no set day or date in the month for our meetings,

since this depends on the availability of the speaker,

but we always meet on a weekday at lunchtime.
